Setter is the interdisciplinary design practice of Amy Pike, exploring typography, play, language and visual systems through design, education and research. Amy is a designer, educator and researcher based in the UK. She is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course at Arts University Plymouth, and also teaches as a specialist tutor on the MA Visual Communication programme.

Driven by a passion for playful design thinking, Amy also runs creative workshops through her practice, The Play Method. These play-focused sessions bring adults together through hands-on creative exploration, encouraging experimentation, collaboration and curiosity. The workshops have their own baby page, which can be discovered on Instagram @theplaymethod

Alongside her teaching practice, Amy is an active researcher currently studying the epigraph systems of the Maghreb region, inspired by and connected to her own ancestry. Her design identity, Setter, brings these strands of practice together — combining a deep passion for typography, language and visual systems with teaching, research and playful creative inquiry.
